All the time. Many customers tell us they couldn’t find anyone locally who had the right product in stock or the experience to install it correctly. The drive from Folsom is about 15 minutes, El Dorado Hills around 20, and Placerville about 30. Most installs are done same-day.
Absolutely. We see customers from Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, and Auburn regularly. Most say they’d rather drive 20 minutes to a shop that has 30+ years of experience and the right product on the shelf than wait weeks for a special order. We’re right off Arden Way.
We always suggest taking care of the rack first. We don’t need to physically see the kayak — we can pull specs online for virtually any make and model. You can also text us pictures of your kayak anytime and we’ll confirm compatibility before you come in.
We recommend calling or texting ahead so we can confirm we have the right hitch in stock for your vehicle. Many hitch installs are completed the same day. Walk-ins are welcome, but a quick call to (916) 563-7333 helps us make sure everything is ready when you arrive.
In many cases, yes. We carry the same brands you’ll find online — Thule, Yakima, Kuat, Curt, DECKED, Retrax — often at comparable pricing. The difference is professional installation, the ability to see and touch the product before buying, and real guidance.
We serve the entire greater Sacramento region — Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, Rocklin, Lincoln, Auburn, Davis, Woodland, West Sacramento, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Granite Bay, Loomis, Placerville, El Dorado Hills, and more.
Yes. Rentals are $50 per day with the 5th day free. Great for a Tahoe ski trip, summer road trip, or anytime you need extra carrying capacity without committing to a purchase. Reserve a rental or call ahead.
We do. We take trade-ins on Yakima and Thule systems and resell them at a discount when they are in good condition. Used inventory changes weekly — call or stop in to see what is available.
Yes — we stock towers, clips, locks, end caps, rubber strips, crossbar parts, and replacement keys for current and many discontinued Yakima and Thule systems. If we don’t have it on the shelf, we can usually source it.
Most SUVs, trucks, and crossovers can — but it depends on your vehicle’s dynamic roof load rating. Rooftop tents weigh 120 to 165 lbs plus the rack system. Factory crossbars usually are not strong enough. We check your vehicle’s specs and recommend the right rack platform.
Most traditional bike racks max out at 35 to 40 lbs per bike. E-bikes commonly weigh 50 to 70 lbs. We carry Kuat, Thule, and Saris racks specifically rated for e-bike weight — some up to 100 lbs per tray.
It depends on what you are towing or carrying. Class I and II handle bike racks and light cargo. Class III covers most small trailers, boats, and campers. Class IV and V are for heavy towing. We match the hitch class to your vehicle and intended use.
A hidden or concealed hitch tucks behind your bumper so you don’t see the receiver when it’s not in use. Stealth Hitches take it further with a completely flush factory-look finish. Standard exposed hitches are visible but usually less expensive.
4-pin handles basic lights — turn signals, brake lights, and running lights. 7-pin adds power for electric brakes, a 12V charging circuit for trailer batteries, and a reverse light circuit. If you are towing anything with brakes or a battery, you need 7-pin.
About 2 to 3 hours for a full-size truck, slightly less for midsize. No drilling into your bed — DECKED systems bolt to existing tie-down points. We are an authorized DECKED installer and carry them in stock.
Retractable covers like Retrax roll into a canister and give you full bed access with one hand. Hard folding covers like BAK fold toward the cab in panels and are usually less expensive. Retractable is better for frequent bed access. Hard folding is great for security on a budget.
AMP Research PowerSteps extend automatically when you open the door and retract flush under the vehicle when you close it. They look factory, preserve ground clearance for off-road, and make getting in and out of lifted trucks much easier.
Absolutely. Text us at (916) 563-7333 with photos of your vehicle, your gear, or whatever you are trying to carry. We’ll give you a recommendation before you even drive over.
